You’ve probably heard in most gyms: “Your body can go much further than you think. It’s your mind you have to convince.”  While you should never push yourself too far, determine a balance between over training and under training. From personal experience, our minds deceive us when pressure increases and pain starts. We stop because our mind tells us we can’t handle more. Our bodies are amazing instruments and are capable of much more than our minds tell us. The trick is learning your body and understanding it. As with anything, this takes patience and time. Through testing yourself and getting to know yourself as you workout, you will discover and realize how far you can go in your training. The key is to work at shutting down the negative and the fear. Don’t give into the mind when it causes self doubt. Counter it with encouraging yourself and telling yourself you can do more.  You are strong and capable. You can do that extra bit.  Don’t give up. Convincing ourselves in moments of struggle is easier said than done but like anything else practice and patience will make it easier and allow you to achieve more out of your routine.
Believe and you will achieve.
